First Double Digit Oscar Sweep Ever

posted by John at 9:22 PMLotR just became the first double digit nominee to win everything it was up for. 11 Oscars ties the Tolkien-based epic with Ben Hur and Titanic for total trophy count, but those two both had nominations they did not win (1 for Ben Hur in Adapted Screenplay, 3 for Titanic (Makeup, both Actress catagories). Gigi and The Last Emperor swept with 9 each
