Vote Early! (But just once, please)

It's hard to see, but this is me casting my vote - for Doty for Southern Oregon, and assorted other candidates and measures on the Oregon Ballot (YES for Medford Sidewalks!)

Voting early saves you the headache of being telephoned during the GotV phase here in Oregon. There are drop locations at each branch library, or you can use the ones I used, on West Main, in front of the Elections Office (the old Safeway building).

Doty for District 6

The Mail Tribune surprised themselves today with their endorsement of me! Reaction has been very positive, and not all seem to think this was as unlooked for as the Trib themselves did...

We went into the 2004 fall election campaign reasonably sure that Sal Esquivel was the obvious choice for the state Legislature’s House District 6 seat. He is a former member of the Medford City Council, a current state senator (by appointment) and a native of the area. He also is a Republican, which has proven to be indispensable in recent decades in getting elected from this district, which essentially consists of the city of Medford.

So it is with some surprise to us — and others, no doubt — that we are instead endorsing Democrat John Doty for the position.
